The University of Winnipeg Archives is proud to announce that the records of Dr. Walter Swayze are now available for research. Dr. Swayze was a Professor of English between 1953 and 1987, and remained active in the University community until his passing in 2014. His records are a valuable addition to our University’s documentary history.

In addition to material pertaining to Dr. Swayze’s life and career, his records also document his friendship with and study of famed author Margaret Laurence; his involvement in the Crowe Affair regarding academic freedom; and his research material on English poet Sir William Watson, including some of the poet’s original records dating back to 1879. A full description of the fonds may be viewed online.
