Visiting speaker to discuss German comics and graphic novels

The University of Winnipeg presents Dr. Paul M. Malone from the University of Waterloo, who will present two public lectures on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, about German comics and graphic novels. These lectures are free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Department of English; Department of Modern Languages and Literatures; German Canadian Congress of Manitoba; and Project GraphicBio (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada).

Paul M. Malone is an Associate Professor of German in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. He is the author of Franz Kafka’s The Trial: Four Stage Adaptations (Peter Lang, 2003), and has also published on performance theory; Faustian rock musicals; German film; and German-language comic books. His interests include film, theatre, comic books, cinematic adaptations of literature, and translation; as well as the works of Franz Kafka and Ödön von Horváth.
