UWinnipeg Department of Business and Administration students know John Melnyk for his business and marketing expertise, but the faculty member attracted a bit of a crowd in downtown Winnipeg today for another talent: The accomplished pianist performed several Gershwin numbers on a piano recently transformed as part of the Play Your Part public art project.
The project spearheaded by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ involves seven hand-painted pianos placed in public places, so anyone can sit down and play. People are encouraged to take photos and videos of themselves playing piano, and share them on social media using the #playyourpart hashtag.
