The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association (UWFA) has advised UWinnipeg that its members ratified a new collective agreement on Friday, July 29, 2016 that will remain in effect until September 2020. UWFA is the University’s largest bargaining unit with 345 members including professors, librarians, coaches, athletic therapists and counsellors.

The agreement over 4.5 years provides for a total 7.5% increase to UWFA salaries.

Increases will also be made to the yearly maximum pensionable earnings for the defined contribution pension plan subject to approval of the pension plan board of trustees.

The collective agreement allows UWinnipeg to remain competitive in attracting high quality academics and professional staff and supports the University’s strategic directions including financial and institutional resilience and academic excellence and renewal.
