UWinnipeg condemns mosque shootings

WINNIPEG, MB – On behalf of students, faculty and staff, Dr. Annette Trimbee, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Winnipeg, and Kevin Settee, President of the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association, issued the following joint statement.

“It is with profound sadness that we absorb the senseless killing of innocent people peacefully at prayer in a Muslim mosque in Saint-Foy, Quebec.

We live in a city, province and country where every language is spoken and all faiths are respected.  Our incredible diversity is our greatest strength. Today we stand united with all Muslims here in Canada and abroad, and double our resolve to encourage peaceful dialogue and understanding.”
