UWinnipeg celebrates the launch of Frozen Justice video series
UWinnipeg professors Dr. Steven Kohm and Dr. Pauline Greenhill, University of Manitoba associate professor Dr. Sonia Bookman, and Ontario Tech University associate teaching professor Dr. Andrea Braithwaite took turns giving short presentations on their research, as well as showing clips from the videos.
The launch, which was held in conjunction with the 2019 Digitizing Justice Conference, welcomed scholars, students, practitioners, and community members from across North America. The readings and films that informed the series are outlined on the project website, which will continue to be updated as new videos are released.
“These videos allow us to share our research with a wider audience, educate the public on ways crime and justice are depicted in film, and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural impact of these films,” said Kohm.
This research was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Grant 435-2016-1078). View the series on the Frozen Justice website.
