UWinnipeg-based Archivist Recognized for Heritage Contributions

The University of Winnipeg extends its congratulations to Diane Haglund on being honoured by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba Philip S. Lee for her dedicated efforts toward “the preservation and promotion of the province’s rich history.” Since 1989 Haglund has served as the conference archivist for the United Church of Canada’s Conference of Manitoba & N.W. Ontario Archives, housed in The University of Winnipeg Library. She has also served for more than a decade as an archives advisor for the Association for Manitoba Archives, working to preserve history in small archive collections and museums across the province. A passionate archivist, Haglund considers her career a privilege.

Diane Haglund was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Historical Preservation and Promotion at Government House yesterday evening.
