The Department of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications presents the inaugural series entitled Dialogues, a forum on trigger warnings and safe spaces in the academy featuring Dr. Angela Failler, UWinnipeg Associate Professor, (Women’s & Gender Studies, Canada Research Chair in Culture and Public Memory) tomorrow, Friday, October 7 at 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, Room 3C12. This event is open to the UWinnipeg community. All are welcome to join the discussion.

Failler is a Research Affiliate of the Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies, and Lead Researcher of the Cultural Studies Research Group (CSRG). She is the co-editor of Skin, Culture and Psychoanalysis (2013) and The Art of Public Mourning: Remembering Air India (forthcoming).

Failler serves on the Editorial Board of the international journal Review of Education, Pedagogy and Cultural Studies. She teaches in the areas of feminist theory, cultural studies, queer theory, and embodiment and subjectivity. In 2012 she won the Clifford J. Robson Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence.
