Snoweek: The UWSA’s Winter Orientation Week Celebration now on

 The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) presents Snoweek, its annual winter orientation week celebration. The party takes place Monday, January 24th to Friday, January 28th in the Bulman Students’ Centre ‘Snow Lodge’ (also known as the multi-purpose room).

Every day Snoweek will feature live music, free pancakes, and delicious food and beverages. Pancakes will be served from 8:00 am to 10:00 am daily, or until the batter runs out! Beer Gardens will be open daily from 11:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m, with bands and DJs at the same time. The music schedule is as follows:

Monday, January 24th: Cannon Bros. and Mama Cutsworth

Tuesday, January 25th: Departures and Tiny O

Wednesday, January 26th: Ultra Mega and Beauchamp

Thursday, January 27th: The Liptonians and Cyclist

Friday, January 28th: Les Jupes and Super Special Secret Guest DJs

Snoweek will also feature fun outdoor activities, including snow soccer, snow ultimate, quinzhee-building, and street hockey. All daytime events are free and open to all.

Snoweek will also feature two highly anticipated evening club events.

On Wednesday night, January 26th, Cannon Bros., Departures, Ultra Mega, and DJ Rob Vilar will play the Lo Pub. This show is free with valid U of W student ID or $5.00 at the door.

On Friday, January 28th, the UWSA, in partnership with DJ Co-op and DJ Hunnicut, presents legendary scratch turntablist DJ Craze at the Pyramid Cabaret. This event is also free for U of W students, or is $10.00 in advance for non-students, with tickets for sale at The Urban Bakery (398 Portage Ave.) and Music Trader (97 Osborne St.).
