The 43rd traditional UWinnipeg Duckworth Great Rock Climb took place this afternoon. Teams of three were required to climb the rock within the shortest time possible starting from the steps of Wesley Hall. The top three teams won a monetary prize provided by the Duckworth Family and gift certificates from Mountain Equipment Co-op.
Today’s record climb by team Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was timed at 21.90 seconds. They were the best of eight teams, however, the winning time set in 1979 of 9.4 seconds remains the time to beat.
