Residential School Survivors Gather For Canada’s Apology

WINNIPEG, MB – The University of Winnipeg was honoured to host, at the community’s request, a gathering of more than 150 residential school survivors, campus and community members on Wednesday, June 11 to hear an historic apology by Prime Minister Steven Harper.

A community discussion was co-facilitated by Jim Bear, Southeast Tribal Council and Wabanakwut Kinew, CBC TV/Radio host.

The event was sponsored by Southeast Tribal Council, Spirit Wind Survivors Inc. and The University of Winnipeg.
