The University of Winnipeg will be participating in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Faculty, staff and students are all invited to walk behind UWinnipeg’s inaugural PROUD banner.
Come join in the fun at the Pride Parade as we celebrate our diversity, our passion and our pride!
The parade begins at 12:00 pm at the Manitoba Legislature grounds. UWinnipeg parade participants must be in the marshaling area prior to the parade by 11:00 am. Look for our Marshall Dr. Fiona Green, Professor and Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts; and our PROUD banner.
This year’s festival theme is ‘Evolution’, which focuses on the evolution of human rights through education, with a primary focus on LGBTTQ*rights and freedoms.The evolution of human rights is a reflection of the advancements made by society. Human rights and freedoms are vital to the LGBTTQ* community as they permit equal recognition and treatment, which enables continued progress.
