The UWinnipeg Pride Committee co-chairs Jarita Greyeyes (Director, Community Learning and Engagement, Indigenous Affairs) and Dr. Chantal Fiola (Urban and Inner-City Studies) would like to thank everyone from the University community who volunteered their time, energy, and effort and made UWinnipeg’s Pride Week a resounding success! All of our events were well-attended and the float was a big hit at the parade. Events like these help to make UWinnipeg a safer and more welcoming place for 2SLGBTQ* students, faculty, and staff.

The Pride Parade float design and development was by Linda Palmer and Marcella Poirier (University of Winnipeg Community Renewal Corporation); banner design and branding by Erin Heroux (Marketing and Communications); infrastructure by Paul Chow (Physical Plant); driving by Mike Thul (Physical Plant); sound system by Anthony Tordiffe (Campus Academic Technologies/Media Services); and float decoration by Samir Habib (Campus Living), Andy McCluskey (Aboriginal Student Services Centre),  Inga Johnson Mychasiw (Student Services), and Naniece Ibrahim (Marketing and Communications). Special thanks to Nathan Enns (Diversity Food Services) for replenishing the troops at the parade, to Manshield Construction for lending us a generator, and to UWinnipeg Security.

Thanks is also due to all the departments that donated swag for the parade: Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Business & Economics; Faculty of Graduate Studies; The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Athletics, and the Alumni Affairs Office.
