Ministerial Panel concludes assignment

Dr. Annette Trimbee was honoured to have served, at the Minister of Natural Resources Jim Carr’s request, on a three person Ministerial Panel pertaining to the proposed Trans Mountain  Pipeline Expansion. Reporting to the federal government, the Panel’s mandate was to listen to what Canadians said was missed in the National Energy Board review of the proposed new line from Edmonton, AB, to Burnaby, BC.

Over the course of the summer, using vacation days, Dr. Trimbee participated in numerous consultations and town halls across Western Canada. “It was a privilege to meet with so many Canadians who were prepared to give up their time to prepare for and present to our Panel,” said Dr. Trimbee.

The Panel’s report ends with six high-level questions for consideration by the Government of Canada (page 46) in making its final decision on this project.

The Panel’s report is public and can be accessed here.
