Masks required on campus when fall session begins
To safeguard the health of the UWinnipeg community, face masks will be required on campus when the fall term begins on September 8.
While most fall term courses will be taught via alternate delivery, some teaching and research that cannot happen remotely will take place in person.
Faculty, staff, and students who are attending campus will be expected to wear masks when occupying indoor public spaces — including classrooms, labs, study areas, washroom, lobbies, hallways, and student residence common areas.
Masks are not mandatory in individual office spaces, except when physical distancing is not possible.
The University of Winnipeg will provide two cloth reusable masks to instructors, staff members, and students who will be on campus.
Wearing a non-medical mask slows the spread of COVID-19 by limiting the distance that infectious respiratory droplets can travel. Wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, frequent hand-washing, and staying home when ill are the fundamental practices that will protect our community.
