They learned how to do stop motion, time-lapse, camera features, light-painting, and different techniques on how to edit and create a film. During the trip, they stayed at the Harvest Moon Society where they got to hear about the history of Clearwater. They got to meet a few town people and encounter what it was like to run a farm. They also learned about the animals and how they are taken care of. The Model School students had a lot of fun on the trip and gained tons of experience.

About the Model School

The Model School at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate provides students with the opportunity and the support needed to attend the Collegiate and prepare for post-secondary education. The students enrolled in the program are from backgrounds that have traditionally been under represented in both high school and post-secondary graduation rates, and are identified by public school educators or non-profit organizations as being bright and capable of university entrance, but having various barriers that prevent them from reaching their potential. The students receive a full bursary and continued support including transportation costs, nutrition, equipment and materials. The school’s unique placement allows the students full access to the UWinnipeg campus with all the resources and reference material, facilities and activities typically available only to university students.
