Students, faculty, and staff seeking details about the new Indigenous Course Requirement can now access a dedicated website for full details.

UWinnipeg is one of the first universities in the country to ensure that all students have a baseline knowledge about Indigenous people and culture by the time they graduate. The new Indigenous Course Requirement makes Indigenous learning part of the undergraduate degree requirements. Beginning in September of 2016.,all first-time UWinnipeg students will take a three-credit course during their degree.

The website includes Frequently Asked Questions and a list of eligible courses that fulfill the Indigenous Course Requirement. Courses fall within a number of departments including History, Political Science, Indigenous Studies, English, and Urban and Inner-City Studies.  The list will continue to evolve as more courses are developed and identified.
