India University delegates on Campus

UWinnipeg’s India Centre for Academic, Business, and Community Excellence* in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will host a delegation of 13 delegates from 11 Universities from India on campus for an all-day session on Thursday, June 19  at 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at the Richardson College for the Environment Science Complex, 599 Portage Ave.

“We are pleased to welcome a post-secondary delegation from India in partnership with FICCI,” says Dr. Sylvie Albert, Chair of the India Centre Board and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. “This is the second business-to-business (B2B) event since the launch of the India Centre in 2013. Last year, the delegation came from various sectors including agribusiness and technology and was matched with industry in Manitoba thanks to the work of the World Trade Centre. This delegation will allow senior executives from numerous Indian universities to meet with their peers in Manitoba and discuss policy as well as opportunities for student exchanges. We believe that this mission will help pave the way for future developmental opportunities between Manitoba and India education institutions.”

The FICCI delegation is also stopping in Toronto and Vancouver.

The India Centre since its formation in November 2013, has collaborated to provide academic, business, community and public-education contributions to the Indo-Canadian community and has extended its reach to encourage a relationship and business opportunities between Canada and India.  The Centre to date has encompassed a broad range of public debates/forums on politics, and science and spirituality, continues to plan B2B events in the Fall on agri-business and technology, and we are planning several other will offer other cultural programmes and guest speakers in the coming year.
