Indigenous Food Sovereignty and Earth Democracy

Free Public Lecture by Dr. Vandana Shiva, world-renowned environmental activist

Dr. Vandana Shiva, world-renowned environmental activist, is giving a free public lecture, Earth Democracy on Saturday, March 29th at 7:30pm at the North Centennial Recreation Centre in Winnipeg, following a Feast of Forgotten Foods starting at 5pm at the same location. Event organizers, The Powers House Producers, are a small Winnipeg-based group who work to promote, teach, and revive food freedom rights.

The event is sponsored by the University of Winnipeg Indigenous Studies Department’s Harry Daniels Lecture series.

To amplify her voice beyond those who can attend in person, the event will be videotaped live, and broadcasted live online. Draw your community together to enjoy food and share Dr. Shiva’s message.
