Follow-up To Power Outage

The University of Winnipeg was affected by a downtown power outage that occurred yesterday (Thursday, December 13) at approximately 4:10 p.m. and affected several UWinnipeg buildings. Power was restored to the campus at approximately 5:30 p.m. and technology services were restored by approximately 9:30 p.m. (the library web site was restored this morning).

A very small number of exams were affected by the power outage, most of which were simply relocated to alternate locations with delayed start times. Two PACE exams have been rescheduled, in conjunction with input from the affected students.

Any students who missed an exam (or have related concerns) due to the power outage are asked to contact their professor to discuss.

UWinnipeg extends sincere gratitude to the students and faculty who stayed on campus and adjusted to the circumstances. Thank you also to the UWinnipeg departments and staff who assisted with the exam relocations and worked hard to restore all systems as quickly as possible.

A final thanks to all affected for their patience and understanding regarding the inconveniences that resulted from the power outage.
