Thousands “STEAM Big” at Science Rendezvous Winnipeg

The numbers are in and Science Rendezvous Winnipeg keeps getting bigger. Approximately 5,000 attendees, and over 700 volunteers, attended the May 2019 festival co-hosted by The University of Winnipeg and University of Manitoba. The event reached 4,000 participants in 2018.

UWinnipeg received research and scholarship funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) that will enable over $3 million in research projects.

2019 Victoria Day Closures

The University of Winnipeg and The Collegiate will be closed on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20, 2019 and will reopen on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. This closure includes The Duckworth Centre,  Axworthy Health and RecPlex, and Diversity Foods.  

UWinnipeg proudly recognizes inductees to Order of Manitoba

The University of Winnipeg congratulates the 2019 Order of Manitoba inductees. There were three recipients who received this honour with UWinnipeg ties: alumna Trudy Schroeder (BA 82), Steven Schipper (Honorary Doctorate of Letters, 2007), and Harvey L. Indigenous STEAM Camp receives NSERC funding

The annual camp received $75,000 in funding over three years. With the added support and security, organizers will be able to incorporate more computer science and coding with Indigenous knowledge.
