World Record Walk Encourages Participaction

sneakersCalling ALL UWinnipeg Students, Faculty and Staff to walk a 1 kilometre loop on Wed. Oct. 3 around the Legislative Grounds and help set a Guinness World Record!

A group will leave from Portage Commons at The University of Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. sharp or participants can meet by 11:15 a.m. at the UWinnipeg Marshalling Area #5 on Osborne Street (across from Great West Life).

Lesley Gaudry, Campus Sustainability Office Research Assistant, and SUNSET’s Kate Dykman will be on hand to distribute participant tickets at the UWinnipeg Marshalling area. Participants can show their tickets for a free lunch and a chance to win some great prizes!

The World Record Walk is being hosted by Green Communities Canada, Resource Conservation Manitoba and Manitoba In Motion.

  • Walk a 1 kilometre loop around the Legislative Grounds and help set a Guinness World Record!
  • The World Record Walk starts Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. SHARP.
  • Wear RED or something Canadian, bring a mug (for free soup), and walk!
