His 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) presentation rose to the top at UWinnipeg’s 6th Annual Graduate Students Research Colloquium, now Matthew Turnbull (MSc in BioScience, Technology and Public Policy Program) is slated to compete this afternoon against the other top 3MT winners from universities across Western Canada. As one of a dozen graduate students at The University of Calgary this afternoon vying for a spot in the upcoming national competition, Turnbull will present “In Silico modeling of the endogenous retrovirus K protease”. He will also compete for People’s Choice.

The entire Western Canadian 3MT will be live streamed here this afternoon beginning at 3:00 pm CDT. Voting for People’s Choice opens immediately following the last presentation, and will remain open for ten minutes.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT™) challenges students to present their research in three minutes or less, in compelling and accessible language. It was developed in 2008 by The University of Queensland for thesis-based graduate students.
