Women’s basketball, men’s volleyball teams featured in post-season play

WINNIPEG, MB – The playoff season has arrived in the Canada West Conference and, as always, The University of Winnipeg Wesmen teams are in the hunt for title glory.

The women’s basketball team and the men’s volleyball squad will play host to post-season action this week and uwinnipeg.tv will webcast all the action live on the Internet for fans who can’t make it down to the Duckworth Centre in person. The women’s basketball team faces cross-town rivals, the University of Manitoba Bisons. The men’s volleyball team does battle with the Trinity Western Spartans. Both playoff series are best-of-three affairs.

The webcast schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 – Winnipeg vs. Manitoba (WBB) – 7:00 PM CST
Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 – Winnipeg vs. Trinity Western (MVB) – 7:00 PM CST
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 – Winnipeg vs. Manitoba (WBB) – 2:00 PM CST
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 – Winnipeg vs. Trinity Western (MVB) – 7:00 PM CST
Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008* – Winnipeg vs. Manitoba (WBB) – 2:00 PM CST
Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008* – Winnipeg vs. Trinity Western (MVB) – 4:00 PM CST
* if necessary

The webcasts will begin approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start time each day. A single camera will give viewers with a “bird’s-eye view” of all the action. Wesmen alumnus Shawn Coates will provide the play-by-play commentary for all games.
