UWinnipeg to Webcast MacArthur Public Forum

Digital Media & Learning event to be carried live tonight on uwinnipeg.tv

WINNIPEG, MB – People interested in watching tonight’s “Do Video Games Help Kids Learn?” Public Forum online may now do so by visiting http://uwinnipeg.tv/live/ at 7:30 pm CST.

Presented by The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation & The University of Winnipeg, the event features MacArthur’s experts in digital media and education sharing their research and views.

The MacArthur Foundation is investing five years and $50-million to build the field of digital media and understand how digital technologies are changing the way young people learn, play, socialize and participate in civic life. This groundbreaking research effort can be an essential and constructive educational tool to help develop educational environments and social institutions that meet the needs of young people, especially the marginalized and the disenfranchised. This public forum is the first time the MacArthur Foundation is offering this educational session and discussion in Canada, which explores core issues facing young people in today’s digital world.
