For decades this international honour society has helped future leaders make valuable connections and reach their goals, and on January 15th new UWinnipeg members will meet for the first time. The UWinnipeg chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society and its first executive were established in the fall, and invitations for membership have been extended to undergraduate students in the top 15 % of their class.

UWinnipeg chapter president Glen Lovie says people who are capable of high academic achievement can make great leaders in other spheres, and Golden Key can help. “I feel there are a lot of people out there that would like to do more within our society, but there’s just no point of entry,” Lovie said.

The largest collegiate honour society in the world, Golden Key provides opportunities for members to network, volunteer, and realize their potential.

Golden Key also offers access to awards and scholarships, listings for jobs and internships, and more. Students pay a one-time fee for a life time membership.

The New Member Recognition Event will be held Wednesday January 15th at 7 pm in Convocation Hall, when members will meet over refreshments to discuss goals, ideas for volunteer activities, and potential community partnerships.
