UWinnipeg Alum Could Be Canada’s Smartest Person!

marshall-carrolWINNIPEG, MB –The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is looking to reveal Canada’s smartest person, who might be Dr. Marshall Todd Carroll, UWinnipeg bachelor of science graduate of 1984. Gerry Dee, the award-winning comedian and star of CBC Television’s Mr. D, will host Canada’s Smartest Person, a CBC TV special that airs on Sunday March 18 at 8 pm (CST). This groundbreaking special will reveal Canada’s smartest person who has more than intelligence and a high IQ score.

“I applied, interviewed and took some tests and became one of one of the four finalists, explained Carroll. “We had various creative challenges, some created by Alan Bishop, from the show survivor. It was challenging and fun. This was a way to show there is more than one way to be smart.”

Dr. Marshall Carrollis a high school science teacher from Winnipeg who is educated as a theoretical quantum chemist. Also a singer-songwriter and a stand-up comedian, Carroll has been inspiring students for over 20 years.

His competitors includes Peter Dyskowski offensive linesman for the Hamilton Tiger Cats – Laura Suen who has a double major Honours BSc in physics and cellular and molecular biology and poet Greg Frankson  is a spoken word artist.
