The University of Winnipeg congratulates UWinnipeg Collegiate alumna Cassidy Mann on her recent nomination for a Western Canadian Music Award! Mann’s second EP, Bright Eyes and Bright Skies, is nominated for Aboriginal Recording of the Year.

After getting an early to start to writing music at just age 9, singer-songwriter Mann released her self-titled EP in 2011, receiving radio play on stations such as Hot 103 and NCI FM. She began performing across Winnipeg as an opener for acts such as Don Amero and JP Hoe. She has been selected three years in a row to perform on stage at the Winnipeg Folk Festival as part of its young performers program.

As an education destination for young people passionate about the performing arts, The University of Winnipeg Collegiate is proud to count Cassidy Mann among its alumni.

The Western Canadian Music Awards will be handed out at a gala in Winnipeg on October 5, 2014, during BreakOut West.
