Ryan Henley Named UBC Assistant Coach

Former Wesmen setter picked as school’s first full-time volleyball assistant

WINNIPEG, MB – The University of Winnipeg would like to congratulate former Wesmen volleyball player Ryan Henley for his recent appointment as the first full-time assistant coach with the University of British Columbia men’s volleyball program.

The 28-year-old Henley played at the setter position for the Wesmen under the tutelage of coach Larry McKay. An on-floor leader, Henley helped take the Wesmen to an appearance in the 2002 CIS National Championship Final against the University of Alberta Golden Bears. Henley would later play for the Canadian National Team that year in a series against Australia.
