Power outage affecting west campus

Update (March 6):  The daycare has re-opened today and is operating normally. The building’s transformer was damaged during the snowstorm earlier this week. We have acquired a temporary generator to provide electricity until repairs to the transformer are completed.

Update: 12:00 pm: The UWSA Day Care will be closed for the rest of today due to the power outage. For additional information, parents may contact Karolya Vargscarr at generalmanager@theuwsa.ca

Classes are running this afternoon as normal.

Update (10:45 am ): Power has been restored to the Richardson College for the Environment & Science Complex and McFeetors Hall student residence.

A power outage is affecting The University of Winnipeg’s west campus this morning: Richardson College for the Environment & Science Complex, McFeetors Hall, and UWSA Day Care.  Efforts are under way to restore power, and the back-up generator is working.

However, morning classes and labs have been cancelled in the Richardson College for the Environment & Science Complex. Classes are still on in other campus buildings.

An update will be provided, as new information is available.
