Milt Stegall Adds Two Future Hall of Famers To Coaching Staff

Two-day high performance skills camp for football players ages 13-17

Milt Stegall is proud and excited to announce that he has added two future hall famers to be guest coaches at the 2015 Milt Stegall High Performance camp, that take place at The University of Winnipeg Rec Plex the weekend of May 23rd and 24th 2015.

Coaching the receivers this year will be BC Lions great, former Bomber and Roughrider, Geroy Simon, and coaching the Quarterbacks will be the one and only Henry “Smilin Hank” Burris from the Ottawa Redblacks.

“I never got the chance to catch passes from Henry, but we have been good friends and he has a wealth of experience that he is going to share with our quarterbacks,” said Stegall.

“I had two years with Geroy in Winnipeg, and had he stayed, maybe I would still have my receiving yardage record,” laughed Stegall.

Simon retired in 2014 with the all time CFL yardage and reception records.

“Winnipeg has always been a special place for me. I started my CFL career here and I can’t wait to coach these young receivers and share my experiences,”said Simon

“I have played against Winnipeg and they have a passionate fan base.  I hope the Quarterbacks I meet have that same passion, because I’m going to be tough on them,” laughed Burris.

“To have Milt is one thing, but to add two legends like Geroy and Henry to work with the kids and give them perspective on the what it takes, is amazing,” said Dale Williams, Camp Director.

The camp will focus on players between the ages of 13 and 17 playing the Quarterback, Receiver and Defensive Back positions. Available spots: 38 Receivers, 38 Defensive Backs and 24 Quarterbacks.

Stay tuned for the rest of Milt’s Coaching staff in the very near future.

A portion of the registration fees will go towards Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg who provide after-school programming to over 4,500 children and youth.

Registration is now open on Football Manitoba’s website – www.footballmanitoba.com
