On Friday, September 1, 2006 The University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Theology officially acknowledged an educational agreement with Saint Arseny Institute. This new and innovative program is designed to make Orthodox Christian theological education possible in the English language.

His Grace Bishop Seraphim (Archdiocese of Canada, Orthodox Church in America) and President Lloyd Axworthy of The University of Winnipeg, along with Rev. Dr. James Christie, Dean of the University’s Faculty of Theology, participated at the official signing ceremony. The documents welcomed St Arseny Institute as an active member of the Winnipeg Theological Cooperative, which includes several other local theological schools and programs. The cooperative offers a lively variety of graduate courses and educational opportunities for adults.

This new association opens an exciting new chapter in the life of the theological cooperative, enhancing the lives of countless instructors, students, and making available more robust scholarly and library resources.
