Free flu vaccination clinic coming to campus

Flu vaccines for a cause! There will be a FREE flu vaccination clinic at The University of Winnipeg on Tuesday, November 14 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

For every immunization given at the clinic, $5 will be donated to UNICEF to fund vaccine programs in developing countries.

The vaccination is free for all wishing to receive it. Please come prepared with your Manitoba Health Card, international student card, or out-of-province medical card. As well, please wear clothing that allows access to the immunization site on the upper arm. There will be t-shirts available to change into if necessary.

The influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone! Even if you “never get sick” immunization is the best way to protect your loved ones and at risk public. Every year in Canada over 10,000 individuals are hospitalized due to influenza and thousands will die as a result of infection. Prevention with vaccine is the best defense.

The vaccination is extremely safe and well-tolerated; however, if you have any questions or concerns health care professionals at the clinics will be happy to provide education and serve as resources to answer all of your inquiries.
