ENHANCED CAMPUS SAFETY – Monday, November 13, 2017

Your safety is extremely important to us.

Effective immediately, you will a notice more security patrols as we have increased our guard complement by one third throughout the day and evening hours.

Experienced guards will be stationed at the Lockhart Hall entrance (at the Ellice Avenue doors) and other areas of high traffic.

If you are concerned about a safety issue or see anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to contact campus security at 204-786-6666.

Please do not chase or try to apprehend a suspect.  Call police at 911.

Everyone is urged to download our new campus safety app for mobile devices, available at the Apple or Google Play app store. It has emergency contact numbers ready to go with one click. It also contains a “friend walk” option that allows you to be visible in real time as you walk to a destination.

Our SafeRide and SafeWalk programs are also available to everyone on campus including evening hours.

Please keep valuables, especially your electronics and cell phone, out of sight whenever possible.

UWinnipeg is proud to be a long-standing anchor in the downtown and contributor to strengthening our inner city community.

We are working hard to deliver a positive experience for you within a safe and diverse campus environment.
