UWinnipeg silver medalist, Jay Lyon

Congratulations to UWinnipeg student Jay Lyon for winning the silver medal in archery at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Lyon, a 3rd year Kinesiology student, finished second in the recurve bow competition.

“It feels incredible to be back home,” said Lyon. “I am satisfied to be back home with my family, girlfriend and friends. My next goal is to graduate from university and to win the 2012 Olympics.”

At the 2010 Beijing Olympics, Lyon entered the Games ranked in the mid-60s in the world but finished 10th overall. Lyons had previously won team silver for Canada at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro.
